Whatnot CSV template

Download the file from Seller Hub. A spreadsheet saved from a blog will not import if one category cell disagrees with Whatnot’s list, including an ampersand or a capital letter.

There is more than one official file

Whatnot’s bulk import article tells you to download the template that matches where you sell, and in one case what you sell. The split it lists:

Open it in Google Sheets and copy it before you edit, which is Whatnot’s instruction. Whatnot says the controlled cells have to match the approved values in that file. Do not rename, reorder, or delete the header row. nothub does not host a substitute template. A copy published here would go stale the next time Whatnot adds a subcategory, and a stale file is how a whole upload fails.

Fill what Whatnot names, and leave the spelling alone

Whatnot’s article says each product row needs a category, sub category, title, description, quantity, type, price, and shipping profile. Condition is required for some categories. You can add up to eight image URLs. For a Buy It Now listing, Offerable is TRUE when buyers may send offers.

Five of those have to match the template exactly, capitalization included: Category, Sub Category, Type, Condition, and Shipping Profile. Shipping Profile is either a profile named in the file or the exact name of a custom profile you already created in Whatnot. Typing your own weight, or a profile you have not saved, does not create one. How a profile sets the buyer’s price is in shipping for sellers.

Image links have to be public https URLs. A link that asks for a password does not count. Price is a number. A dollar sign is a common way to make a row fail.

On the listing itself, Whatnot also has a SKU and a cost per item. The SKU can print on the packing slip, and Whatnot says you cannot change it after the listing sells. Cost per item is visible to you, not the buyer, and it shows up as cost of goods in the weekly orders report. If the template you downloaded has those columns, fill them from the same notes you made when the inventory arrived. If it does not, do not add headers Whatnot did not ask for.

Drafts in inventory, or listings for one show

Whatnot describes two imports. Inventory is for listings you will edit and publish again. A show import is temporary listings for that show.

For Inventory: on whatnot.com, open Inventory in Seller Hub, choose Import from CSV, and import. Whatnot says the products land as drafts. You can upload without images. You need at least one image on a draft before it can be published.

Check a handful of rows before you trust a hundred. The failure is usually one cell that looks right. “Comics” is not “Comics & Manga” if the value list has the ampersand. The fee on whatever does publish still depends on category, which you can run through the fee calculator before the show.

Column rules were read from Whatnot’s bulk import article on November 3, 2026. Download a fresh template when you import. nothub is not affiliated with Whatnot, and this page is not Whatnot’s file.

Questions sellers ask

Where do I download the Whatnot CSV template?+

From Seller Hub, not from a third-party spreadsheet. Whatnot’s bulk import article says to choose the template for your location and category. United States, Australia, and the Netherlands share a non-coins file. Coins, the UK, Germany, France and Belgium, and Japan TCG have their own.

Why does a Whatnot CSV upload fail?+

Whatnot says Category, Sub Category, Type, Condition, and Shipping Profile must match the approved values in the template, including spelling and capitalization. A shipping profile has to be one of those values or the exact name of a custom profile you already created. Do not type a weight you made up.

Does a Whatnot CSV import publish the listings?+

An import to Inventory saves draft listings. Whatnot says each draft needs at least one image before you can publish it. Images are not required for the upload itself. You can also import temporary listings for one show.

A row is a unit you can ship.

nothub is an independent workspace in development for Whatnot sellers. It does not import a Whatnot CSV and it does not connect to Seller Hub.
