Whatnot fee calculator

A Whatnot sales calculator for one US order: commission on the item price, processing of 2.9% plus $0.30 on what the buyer pays, and what is left after your cost.

Run one sale

The fields start as the seller-fee guide’s $25 example: an 8% commission on the item, and $5 of buyer-paid shipping with no tax. Change the category to fill the standard rate. Type a percent when Seller Hub shows a tier other than standard.

Commission and processing use different amounts

Commission uses the item price. On the public United States card, standard is under $15,000 of sales in a four-week window. Sports, TCG, fashion, other collectibles, and other start at 8%. Coins start at 4%. A higher tier lowers commission only. Processing stays 2.9% plus $0.30 in the US. The full grid, including tiers, is on how much Whatnot charges sellers.

The checkbox for orders over $1,500 applies 0% commission to the slice above $1,500 and the normal rate to the first $1,500. Whatnot limits that treatment to select categories. Turn it on only when your category qualifies. Processing still uses the whole buyer total.

What you paid for the item is not a Whatnot fee. It is how a profit calculator differs from a fee table. Giveaway postage, a carrier adjustment, and the $4.36 signature fee are costs you pay, so they come off the item price too.

Shipping cost is the buyer’s line, unless you paid it

Whatnot’s US shipping article, updated October 23, 2026, lists buyer rates effective July 31, 2026. Ground Advantage is $7.75 flat from 1 to 5 pounds, to any US address. Under a pound, the published steps are $4.47, $4.85, $5.25, and $6.75. Flat Rate is a temporary $12.99. Those presets fill the shipping field. Over 5 pounds, Ground Advantage starts at $9.69 and depends on zone, so this page will not invent that amount.

The buyer’s shipping raises the processing base. It is not money you keep, and it is not subtracted again. If you pay postage yourself, put that amount in other costs. Profiles, bundles, and label adjustments are in Whatnot shipping for sellers.

This applies the public US card. It does not read your Seller Hub tier, a promotion, EU or UK VAT, or a label Whatnot already settled. If this page and the order receipt disagree, the receipt is the charge. nothub does not bill these fees and is not affiliated with Whatnot.

Questions sellers ask

How much does Whatnot take from a sale?+

On the public US card, commission is a percentage of the item price. Most categories start at 8%, and coins start at 4%. Payment processing is separate: 2.9% of the total the buyer pays, including shipping and tax, plus $0.30. A lower tier changes commission only.

Does the Whatnot fee calculator include shipping?+

Buyer-paid shipping is included in the processing base and is not treated as seller revenue. Whatnot’s published US Ground Advantage rate for 1 to 5 pounds is $7.75. Shipping over 5 pounds varies by zone, so type the amount the buyer was shown. Postage you pay yourself, such as a giveaway label, goes in costs you pay.

Is this Whatnot’s official payout?+

No. The calculator applies Whatnot’s published US commission card and processing rate. Seller Hub is the amount that was charged. Promotions, your tier, and a label adjustment can differ.
